Peter Krusko was born in Yonkers, NY. He received a Bachelor of Fine Art {with honors} and Masters of Fine Art degrees from Pratt Institute, New York City. For 33 years he was public school art teacher in Westchester County, NY. ARTIST STATEMENT Making art is linked with my capacity to feel. Winter is a time for reflection. The low arc of the sun, and subsequent long nights of winter produce in me a meditative introspection of memory and dream. To engage with this detachment, I paint or draw using Surrealistic technique of automatism. As the weather warms up I paint outside. When painting on location I reference color and composition, however the defining character of the painting is to depict the affect the landscape is having on me and share that experience with the viewer.
