Artist Statement "I’m a Canadian painter living on an island off the northwest coast of Canada. My current paintings revolve around floral still lives. The flowers are the original inspiration for the paintings, mostly simple bouquets from local market stands. My paintings accentuate color and pattern. I combine contrasting patterns and have little concern with perspective, although I like to include a shadow or two. I am more interested in recognizable objects in a flattened space. These paintings have been described as playful, witty, and whimsical. I’m deadly serious when I paint them, though." --Linda Henningson Linda graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 2006 and has continued to paint since then. She has exhibited in Canada and the United States in galleries and at venues including the Toronto International Art Fair, New York City's The Affordable Art Fair, and solo and group shows in Hamilton, Vancouver, and Kelowna, BC. National television shows such as Home and Garden TV's "Income Property" and CTV's "The Marilyn Denis Show" have purchased her paintings. Linda is a log cabin dweller living in the forest beside the ocean with her sweetheart, an extensive market garden, and many cats.
