As a child, Sanchitha Vishwanth was captivated by the vibrant colors and textures of the Indian subcontinent's artistic heritage. Her journey eventually brought her to Western Massachusetts, where she discovered a passion for plein air painting and still life. Inspired by the Old Masters, Sanchitha honed her skills through meticulous master copies, developing a style that echoes the chiaroscuro typical of seventeenth-century Dutch genre painting. Her work invites viewers to navigate those passages of shadow and light, and appreciate the beauty of everyday moments. With awards from juried exhibitions at The Connecticut Pastel Society, the Agawam Public Library, the Monson Arts Council, and Arts Center East, among others, Sanchitha’s artistic fusion of her Eastern roots and Western influences reflects her personal journey. She welcomes viewers to her world of light, color, and realism.
