*Kelly DeLay is a storm-chaser and photographer known for his images of supercells, rainbows, hail, and lightning. His compositions are distinctive in the way they break up natural but uncanny lighting conditions into symbolic contrasts and gripping sections of the frame. This is particularly apparent in the optimistic or aspirational connotations of the rainbow set against the impending danger of a hail storm evident in his image Double Rainbow Tornado Hail (Simla, Colorado) featured in our current exhibition, Perfect Storm. Kelly DeLay is based in Dallas, Texas but travels about 15,000 miles annually over just a few months to document storms in South Texas, Oklahoma, and even as far as the Canadian border. His work has been featured on ABC News, CBS Evening News, Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, and the Weather Channel. DeLay is a recipient of the Webby Award for his project, Clouds 365.
