Chris Gullikson is a trained storm spotter, engineer, and photographer. His images feature sparks of lighting and massive supercells that document the extraordinary events of our visible world. Chris Gullikson is a guide with Tempest Tours working primarily in The Plains and closely with fellow photographer and storm chaser, Bill Reid. Gullikson’s work is an extension of his concerns with climate change, documenting the increasing likelihood of these “natural disasters”. This is also evident in his conservation work, since 2004, Gullikson has worked with Operation Migration to assist in the care and rehabilitation of whopping cranes. Annually, he helps raise a young flock of these endangered birds and leads them from Wisconsin to Florida with an ultra-light aircraft.
