A Child of two WorldsJoanne was born in Venezuela and lived in South America and Europe beforeimmigrating to the United States. Her mother’s roots are Spanish, and her father’sancestors settled in the British Caribbean colony of Barbados in the 1880’s. Theinfluence of this mixed cultural background is an integral element to Joanne’s paintings. After receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art and through many years of dedication toGraphic Design, Joanne has returned to her love of painting with Acrylics. Her workcombines bold layouts and colors that express her personality and passion for nature.Some paintings begin with reference photos, handmade papers and various acrylicmediums, which harden to create various textures.Joanne's original paintings are also available as archival prints, greeting cards andceramic tiles.
