“I feel blessed that in the latter part of my life I have been fortunate to find the hobby of painting that gives me pleasure but also challenges me. People often say to me ‘you must find painting relaxing;’ however, in fact, this is not the case. While I love to paint, I usually put a tremendous amount of pressure on myself, so relaxing it is not. This is not a positive but true. Although I can paint realistically, I now find abstract painting to be more interesting and rewarding. With Abstract painting I have to create something totally from my mind, which is very individual and personal. I do not know what my painting future will be, but I hope to continue to experiment and grow.”
