Date of Birth: 1983 Marica Honychurch Bio:Born and raised in Dominica, Eastern Caribbean, Marica Honychurch moved to the U.S. in her late teens where she was first introduced to the world of photography. She gained a B.F.A at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and was able to gain experience in film and dark room processes before transitioning over to digital commercial photography. Marica worked for several years in New York City primarily in the fashion world of photography and led the digital archive for Fragile Productions, as well as freelanced with various fashion photographers. Eager to focus more on travel, conceptual portrait, and documentary photography, Marica Honychurch returned to her homeland to re-immerse herself into the culture that she wanted to reconnect with. She is now a Freelance documentary, travel, and portrait photographer and videographer. She also co-owns a business called Blue Curtain Creative with her sister – where design, photography and video are intertwined. Marica has shot and edited for clients including UNDP and UNICEF and has been published in various magazines and online publications such as Wall Street Journal, NY Book Review, World Bride Magazine, Dominica Traveller. Her most recent works were exhibited in the Biennial of the Americas; Fabrica De Arte in Denver, CO, USA and is the photographer for the recently published book: ‘Still Standing: The Ti Kais of Dominica’.
