Hanna Kuhns is an abstract artist and Art Teacher. She was born in Munich Germany and now resides in Coeur d’Alene Idaho with her husband Tom and 3 daughters. She began creating this work 3 years ago by experimenting with printmaking tools and techniques. She ultimately arrived at a process that is focused on movement and flow. As an active person who loves to ski and run, she brought this energy to her art making. She would describe her creative state in the making of this work as one of wonder and excitement, creating each piece and working to discover new textures and forms that come together in a balanced composition. Each piece in the body of work tells a story abouta person or a place. “Passenger Seat 101 1967” Is about her love for Volkswagen buses, and growing up with a Dad who would restore them. He even lived in one in Germany. When she was 19, Hanna worked in Amsterdam. Being young, free and full of adventure is what “City Weekend” represents. This same theme is present in the piece “Rhonda Hits The Road”. Rhonda shows up in Hanna’s work as a representation of someone wholives a “full-send” life, carpe diem embodied in a person.
