Thai artist Yerrinda Keawsuwan (@yerrinda_art) transforms the traditional craft of embroidery into an expressive art form that captures the elegance of traditional garments. Her detailed works, which at first glance resemble paintings, feature women from historical periods across East Asia and occasionally medieval Europe, portrayed in their cultural attire within rich, scenic backdrops. Keawsuwan’s artistry was recently featured in a solo exhibition at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) in November 2023, where she showcased her skill in blending traditional subjects with a contemporary medium.Inspired by her early memories of watching her mother embroider, Keawsuwan's pieces are deeply infused with a sense of femininity—something she further explores through figures like actress Liu Lianzi. Each stitch in her work is meticulously planned and executed, serving as a form of meditation and a celebration of patience and detail, reflecting her belief in the gradual unfolding beauty of life, much like the blooming of a flower.
