Award Winning Artist Liz Doody lived a good portion of her life in NY. She longed to live somewhere warm and to see the world, so she found her way to St. Thomas, USVI. Her time in the USVI (before the two big hurricanes) inspired many of her paintings especially the sultry blue and turquoise shades layered with sand, oil, and wax, which invoke memories of her experiences. Now living stateside, Liz has a new home and studio within it where she paints her creations.Liz has won awards in painting all across the East Coast. She travels whenever and wherever she can for inspiration. Landscapes, architecture, and colors of destinations have become a big inspiration to her. Many of Liz Doody's paintings feature lovely blooms of flowers or the brilliant blue sky, but it is the emotion you will see and feel through Liz’s eyes that allows an individual’s interpretation of these scenes. Her emotions are also painted from her dreams andconnections to others, expressing her feelings of love, sadness, heartbreak, or happiness in each painting. “It's not what one sees, but what one feels” - Liz Doody Tying the feelings of a location to the painting is always a goal.
