MF is an emerging collage artist whose primary material is their own 35mm film photography. Collage is a medium through which they are able to work with reality, deconstruct it, and reconstruct something that wasn’t possible before. In this way, MF feels that collage is most closely a metaphor for real life; we are always working with what already exists. MF’s process is about cultivating patience, focus, and faith. Through the slow technique of hand-cutting, they tap into their internal experience and translate it into color and form.
