*Jen Casad, a commercial fisherman and artist, brings the rich history and current reality of Maine to life through her realistic drawings. Her work, including the iconic portrayal of a clam digger in Sharon Lockhart’s film Double Tide (2009), reflects a deep connection to Maine's fishing industry. “Drawing has that same type of rhythmic meditative flow as does the physical work of clamming. It is someplace I can be where the rest of the world tunnels out and time seems to disappear. The largest and best part of my life is being a mother to my beautiful, fun, exciting, and loving daughter.”
