Lithuanian, b. 1991 Laura El is a digital illustrator from New York City known for her unique line work, city landscapes, and storytelling abilities. Laura was born in Lithuania and lived in Ireland for many years before moving to New York. Laura always dreamt of becoming an artist, and was told by many that she “couldn’t be an artist and make a living”. Taking a chance and following her instinct, she quit her waitressing job six years ago to pursue her art full-time. When the pandemic hit, Laura helped raise funds for her local animal shelter by painting pet portraits. In a three-week period, she created several illustrations, raising a record amount for the shelter. Since then, she has amassed over 100,000 followers on Instagram and continues to create perfectly composed images that offer glimpses into enchanted city landscapes and the lives lived in them. Her artwork has been featured in renowned publications, including Forbes, Marie Claire, Martha Stewart, and Cosmopolitan, and her work has been sold at auction houses such as Sotheby’s and Christie's.
