Originally from the east coast, I've called LA home for the last 10 years. I am an engineer by training and an avid photographer in my free time. I first learned how to work a camera on my dad’s Exakta Varex IIa back in the 1980’s, shooting black and white negatives and developing them in my high school dark room. For me, part of the joy of taking pictures has always been in setting up the lighting and having an intuitive sense of the physical principles of imaging that lead to a compelling photograph. My work has been exhibited in local galleries in SoCal as part of juried group shows including the Emerging Artist gallery in downtown LA, Covet Gallery in Oceanside, and the SCAA Gallery in Santa Clarita. This past spring, my work was on display at KAFN café in Glendale, California. Outside of the SoCal area, my work has been selected for exhibit in juried group shows in Huntington, NY (FotoFoto), Minneapolis, MN (Praxis), and Yakima, WA (Larson Gallery) and was part of an online group show by the prestigious Center for Photographic Art in Carmel, CA. My piece entitled "Broadscape", received Honorable Mention in the 13th annual MPA Awards, for Architecture/Still Life, and three of my photos have been shortlisted for the online Motif Collective Award.
