Jim Karlovich lives, paints and sculpts in Amesbury, Massachusetts. He has taken art instruction at the University of Minnesota and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and sculpture classes at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. He also lived in Italy for three years during which time he completed more than forty paintings inspired by his travels throughout Europe. Until mid 2006, however his pursuit of art took second place behind a successful professional career in finance, law and consulting. Once it became clear to him that he would only thrive as an artist if he pursued it full time he made the commitment to become a professional painter and sculptor. His body of work spans a very wide range of subject matter influenced by his extensive travel, his interest in the human form, nature and his desire to interpret as well as to record what he sees. His work is in or has been displayed in the following collections: Coopers & Lybrand , Boston, Minneapolis, New York and Philadelphia Dorsey & Whitney, LLP Fidelity Management and Research, Boston The Hebrew Rehabilitation Center, Boston McLane Law Firm PA, Manchester, N.H. Robinson, Boesch & Sennott, Portsmouth, N.H. It can also be found in over fifty private collections in Italy, Great Britain, Bermuda, and the United States. His work has recently appeared on the cover of Artscope magazine.
