Born in 1970 in Rognac, France, Cédric Bouteiller now lives and works in the South of France. He studied plastic arts and philosophy at the University of Aix-en-Provence before embarking on travels to cities like New York, London, Paris, Tokyo, and Shanghai. In 2009, during an exhibition at the Galerie DX in Bordeaux, Bouteiller became deeply engaged with Street Art. His work integrates symbols, graffiti, stencils, and posters, combining printed images, collages, drawings, and tags on brushed aluminium, all sealed with translucent resin. His unique artistic style blends modern photographic elements, contemporary painting, graffiti, digital art, and collage.Bouteiller draws inspiration from artists like Anthony Tàpies and Pierre Alechinsky and is influenced by Picasso's art and Cocteau's literature, particularly after moving to Arles. His artworks reflect a visionary urban perspective, incorporating diverse images and memories from his travels.Beyond visual arts, Bouteiller delves into a form of mystic alchemy, exploring themes like the oxidation of substances, the transformation of plastics, and the evaporation of paints, all to transcend human condition and elevate consciousness.
