Born in 1946, in Louth, England, Jeremy Smith is a contemporary realist that moved to Canada in 1948. Studying at the University of Western Ontario, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts and French in 1969. Going to Tokyo from 1969 to 1971, he also studied Japanese brush techniques there. Smith's works can be found in private and corporate collections, public collections include the Art Gallery of Ontario, the London Regional Art Gallery and the Hamilton Art Gallery. Smith has also exhibited internationally at the Albright Knox Gallery in Buffalo, New York, the Fischer Fine Arts in London, England, the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria in British Columbia, and the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
