Artist Statement As a mixed media artist, I am interested in memory, place and mythological folklore. My work is deeply rooted in art history's glorified depiction of the natural world from the Impressionists to the Hudson River School. My current work explores human isolation and environmental change. In an increasingly visual world, we pay attention to pictorial cues and messaging. It can be interesting to redefine the cue, to transform the message. I’m interested in how history and memory can be curated and redefined.
