Neil McAuliffe is a Cape Cod-based artist specialized in realist scenes of New England rendered with an Impressionist gesture. Growing up on Cape Cod, Neil’s interest in painting began with drawings of local sea and landscapes and evolved toward his formal training at Massachusetts College of Art, where he studied illustration. His practice continued on the Cape, where he has maintained an independent practice focused on pen and ink and watercolor renderings of picturesque homes, boats, golf courses.In 1991, Neil was commissioned to paint a series of aerial views of various prestigious sites, which were published and offered in limited editions. Among these sites were Augusta National Golf Course, Pebble Beach Golf Links, Harvard University, and the villages of Hyannisport and Osterville, all from a bird’s eye view.Neil has also spent time living and painting in the Caribbean, where he still finds inspiration on his annual trips south. His work in this context is highly regarded for capturing the unique beauty of Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, and Key West, has been widely collected in commissions for Sandals Resorts, Jablum Blue Mountain Coffee Co., and Caribbean Utilities Inc.Neil currently resides in Centerville with his wife and daughters. As he states, “I’ve drawn and painted all my life and look forward to many more years of creating art for people to enjoy.”
