Born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ninon Chrysochoos is an artist whose vision of the world is nothing short of technicolor. From a young age, her artwork was recognized for its potential, with pieces handpicked for exhibition at the Rhodesian National Art Gallery. Trained in various art genres, Ninon naturally gravitated towards abstract expressionism, impressionism, and design. Her works transcend the ordinary; each composition transforms time, space, and color. Far from being random or artificial, her art is born from the depths of her eternal soul, spanning eons of time and translating that energy onto the canvas through color and form. Her voice and heart speak directly to the viewer, offering a profound connection. A Greek from the ancient Isle of Rhodes who grew up in Africa, Ninon merges the feminine divine with the masculine force in her art. Her compositions interweave harmony and tension, contrast and complement, peace and power – a balance that requires raw talent and vision to execute. Her work embodies a magical simplicity on the surface, yet as one gazes more intently, its complexity unfolds. This magic is drawn from the joys and struggles she has embraced throughout her life, having lived across three continents and being fluent in four languages. Recently, Ninon had the privilege of exhibiting at Art Basel Week 2024 with Drew Marc Gallery at Red Dot Miami, where she sold a piece, further cementing her place as an artist on the rise. Artist Statement:“Much of my inspiration comes from the many cultures that have left an indelible mark on my soul. From these diverse influences, I bring together the real and the abstract, the ancient and the modern, the natural and the supernatural, the pensive and the active.” This rich cultural tapestry allows me to explore an expansive range of motion and palette in my work.
