Kathy Johnson is a color-loving abstract artist who creates art that adds beauty and life to any space. For the past 15 years, she has been selling her paintings, including commissioned pieces for the interior design industry. Kathy’s love of art and fascination with archeology started in grade school. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Studio Art degree from Cal State University, Long Beach. Art and archeology continue to meet in her work, where the viewer discovers marks and color beneath the surface—hints of treasure and story in the layers. “Inspired by the Creator, I study the landscape, sea, sky, and clouds as the sunlight changes their colors where I live in San Diego. The majority of my pieces are depictions from travels with my husband, stories from books I’m reading, and elements of favorite memories”.
