Alex Cohen (b. 1980, Newton, PA) is a painter living in Newtown, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia and received a BA from The University of Pennsylvania. He creates handmade frames, teaches painting and drawing, and has made a documentary about the Philadelphia painter, David Fertig. Alex’s artwork has been exhibited across the U.S. and abroad with recent solo exhibitions at Millersville University in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and PULP Gallery in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Alex co-directs Kings Oaks, an arts organization which presents exhibitions, performances, classes, and events on an historic farm near Newtown with his wife, Clara Weishahn.
