Kevin Brent Morris is an emerging artist based out of Overland Park, Kansas. Finding inspiration in the seemingly insignificant objects of life that are easily ignored, he champions his subjects and brings them to the forefront of his paintings. Drawing from his education in ecology from Baylor University, and his experience as a park ranger during his college tenure, Morris has chosen to focus his work on the nearly infinite variety of beetles found in our natural world. Morris’ entomological paintings display beautifully rendered beetles atop decorative, playful backgrounds. The juxtaposition between realism and pop art influenced designs meld together forming a vibrant, visual aesthetic. As an artist, Morris is energized by the interaction between the unique colors and shapes that naturally occur in the wild and those that are created by man.
