Cara’s education includes degree studies in Music: Vocal Performance from Westminster Choir College, Princeton, NJ and Biology: Pre Med at Bridgewater State University, Bridgewater, MA.Cara's work is described as atmospheric, meditative and evocative while alluding to landscape in minimal detail, keeping viewers interest in the subtle flux of tones and texture in her paintings."The interpretation of Landscape is an infinite quest I must explore; deconstruct, refine, simplify, defy, blur, mark, scrape, saturate, desaturate... in essence, to paint the landscape in various and countless forms is to journal life in all it's tenderness and boldness, it's depth and light... the work is no doubt influenced by subconscious memories of many costal scenes from New England and Camden, Maine in particular where my grandmother originated. The rocky shores and palette of ME are still my most favorite to interpret. The paintings are open to interpretation and I encourage the viewer to create their own journeyin finding personal significance in connection to the art.”Established in 2023, Cara founded and is the director of Gonier Fine Art Monotype Workshops; a workshop program promoting and educating students on the techniques of cost effective, minimal equipment fine art printmaking. Established in 2024, Cara founded and is the director of Rolling River Printmakers; a New England Based group of professional exhibiting printmakers; highlighting traditional printmaking and experimental applications.
