She relocated to Huntington Beach, where she was inspired by the Ocean. She is now a Valley of the Sun resident. Colette volunteered at the Arizona Center of the Blind and Visually Impaired. There, she worked with visually impaired and special needs adults in the Ceramic Department for 8 years. While volunteering at the ACBVI, she began a more serious journey with stoneware clay at the Phoenix Center for the Arts. Colette currently creates at Phoenix Collage since 2020. Artist StatementI am passionate about carving and sgraffito techniques creating a variety of functional and sculptural art. I enjoy how I can transform clay surfaces and create abstract forms. Each pass I make with my carving tools allows me to express my connection with the world around me. My new passion is making art with flowers. Whether painting with glaze or shaping flowers, my hands are tools that allow me to express my inspiration from nature and landscapes.
