Go is a Japanese-born artist who has been living on the Gold Coast in Australia since the age of 10. He began drawing with his brothers before he started kindergarten, and has since devoted his life to his passion for art. One of the most important aspects of Go's artwork is his composition. He carefully considers the placement of each element in his paintings, creating a balanced and visually pleasing whole. Lot of his work draws upon and reflects the bright, tropical and colorful vibes of the Gold Coast. However, he is not limited to any particular theme. Instead, he creates art that mirrors his emotions and taps into what he calls the “Creative Pool”—a state where inspiration and ideas flow through him, though he can’t quite pinpoint their source. He also incorporates a wide range of symbols into his work, drawing on his interest in social, political, and spiritual (Go don’t like the word ‘spiritual’ it has been overused and it sickens him, he also doesn’t like lot of other words like ‘YOLO’, ‘artist’, ‘chillax’ etc etc) issues. One of the hallmarks of Go's artwork is the harmonious combination of solid and soft textured elements. He uses texture to create contrast between the two, resulting in a visually captivating effect that draws the viewer in. Additionally, his use of interesting figures and shapes, often with unique textures, adds depth and dimension to his pieces. Go also incorporates typography into many of his paintings. While it often plays a small role in the overall composition, he enjoys creating his own language or using interesting words from the dictionary that may or may not be related to the painting. Sometimes, he adds typography purely for its visual effect, believing that certain paintings look better with it. He intentionally uses typography to stimulate the audience's creativity, even if the combination of letters doesn't make sense. Through his unique approach, Go creates truly captivating artwork that often contains multiple layers of symbolism. These symbols are carefully chosen and woven into his paintings, adding further depth and meaning to his work. His artwork has been featured in numerous exhibitions both nationally and internationally. When he's not painting, Go enjoys visiting Brisbane and surfing.
