Pamela Phelps handcrafts wearable art that makes a bold statement. As a gifted jewelry designer who creates unique handcrafted jewelry, Pamela seeks out unusually cut gems and one-of-a-kind notions to conceive each piece as a distinctive treasure. As an artist for decades working in mediums such as watercolor, charcoal, and digital graphics, over the past 12 years she has poured her passion into crafting daring statement pieces by hand. Her carefully selected gemstones create a spiritual connection to each other and to the wearer. Handmaking her own custom silver components, her works are edgy, courageous, and reflect who she is as both a designer and a person. Earning a B.A. from Washington State University in Fine and Studio Arts, Pamela has been inspired by artists and forms of art from around the world, especially Indonesian art. In addition to her work as a designer of unique jewelry, she has poured much of her expertise and art experience into owning and managing The Proctor Art Gallery (proctorart.com), located in the Proctor Business District of Tacoma. Pamela participates in numerous shows and events which provide an opportunity for her to interact directly with those who love the look and feel of hand-crafted, exceptional jewelry. Her necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings are showcased at the Proctor Gallery, and many of her new projects are visible by following her (@pamelaphelpsdesigns) on Instagram, Facebook, and her gallery’s website. Pamela has designed a special collection of unique, hand-crafted jewelry specifically for Barlow Gallery, and we are proud to feature and showcase her work.
