In 2014, after 20 years working as a visual designer and photographer around the world, I moved to New York City to attend art school at the Art Students League. I now devote my time to a full-time professional art practice and describe myself as a “multidisciplinary” artist preferring to create in both 2d and 3d. I am always keen to explore the visual storytelling possibilities that serendipitous outcomes with innovative techniques and materials offer. Process and experimentation have become central to my art practice and have resulted in the development of a unique technique using acrylic paint skins. The dried skins are each manipulated individually by hand and fashioned into 3D forms then combined to create a sculptural relief painting. The resulting artwork encourages curiosity across its entirety, compelling the viewer to move in closer, be intrigued. Ultimately, I desire to achieve a finished artwork that invites exchanges between reality, enchantment and raw truth.
