Robin Crofut-Brittingham is an artist and writer. Her work focuses on the creation of real and imagined worlds, inspired by nature. Her practice largely consists of the creation of large-scale works on paper that explore the complex relationship between humans and the natural world, with a particular focus on themes of overconsumption and environmental degradation. Her paintings imagine a future where humans and nature coexist in a fragile but harmonious balance, drawing on mythology, speculative fiction, and current events to build worlds that illustrate alternative narratives.Originally from Western Massachusetts she received her BA from Bard College in Annandale-On-Hudson, New York with a focus in writing. She completed her MFA at the San Francisco Art Institute. She was the recipient of the Murphy Cadogan Award from the San Francisco Foundation and a Martha Boschen Porter Award through the Berkshire Taconic Foundation. Her work has been featured in Juxtapoz, Novella, Frankie, My Modern Met, Hi Fructose, among others, and has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout the US and Canada. Her paintings are included in private collections worldwide.
