Originally from Kansas, Jarod Farver is a contemporary abstract painter whose work is deeply rooted in a lifelong connection to nature and the outdoors. He began exploring oil painting at the young age of eight, and over the decades, art has remained a constant presence in his life. Between 2004 and 2008, Jarod traveled extensively, seeking inspiration and perspective before ultimately settling in San Diego, California. It was there that his professional art career began to flourish, with exhibitions and representation across multiple galleries. Today, Jarod lives and works in Gilbert, Arizona with his family, continuing to expand his creative practice and body of work. Artist Statement:My artistic journey is a continuous exploration of the interplay between structure and spontaneity, inspired by the natural world that has always captivated me. Growing up in Kansas, the vastness of the plains and the ever-changing skies instilled in me a deep appreciation for nature’s patterns and rhythms. In my work, I employ a variety of mixed media — including acrylics, ink, spray paint, pastels, and epoxy resin — to create layered compositions that evoke both the complexity and serenity of natural landscapes. Each piece is a meditation on form, color, and texture, aiming to capture the essence of a moment or emotion. The series featured at Drew Marc Gallery explores themes of contrast and the contemporary essence of resin — embracing its luminous depth and dynamic surface qualities. These works examine tension and harmony through bold mark-making, vivid pigments, and layered transparencies that feel simultaneously intentional and intuitive. Art, for me, is not just a means of expression but a way of life. It’s a process of discovery, reflection, and connection. Through my paintings, I invite viewers to embark on their own journeys, finding personal meaning and resonance within the abstract forms.
