Indie184, also known as Soraya Marquez, is a New York-based street artist of Dominican descent. She grew up in Washington Heights and became immersed in graffiti culture from a young age. Influenced by both abstract expressionism and pop art, her paintings are raptures of color and textures. Fused with of her original graffiti and street art, imagery, and designs juxtaposed with personal messages. She left business school to pursue her passion for art, teaching herself skills like sewing, painting, and graphic design. Her work can be found on the streets of cities from the South Bronx to Paris, and she has exhibited in major galleries and museums worldwide, including El Museo del Barrio in NYC and the Völklingen Ironworks Museum in Germany.
