Nate Cassie is a conceptual artist not tied to any specific medium, style or method. His practice includes sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, video and photography. One unifying theme is an exploration of the spaces in between—between the ordinary and wonder, between the object and reflection, between the artist and audience—the space in between the everyday and the extraordinary. Currently, this includes the exploration of vernacular beauty in functional ceramics and furniture that connect groups and communities. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is included in public and private collections, including the McNay Museum, the City of San Antonio, Ruby City, and Neiman Marcus. He has lived and worked in San Antonio, Texas, since 1993.
