Tim Saupitty is a self-taught Comanche artist residing in Lawton, OK. As a contemporary artist, Saupitty loves his Comanche culture & takes pride in his heritage, tribal customs, stories & historical accounts, all of which he portrays in his work, capturing the simplicity & beauty of the Comanche way of life. His works are a visual interpretation of stories told to him by tribal elders, making him a graphic historian. Saupitty's artwork can follow a traditional flat style or a more abstract style with dramatic color and texture. Saupitty was the recipient of the Lawton Arts and Humanities Council's 2013 Artist of the Year.
