Richard Hardy took his first pottery class in High School in the small town of Blackstone,Massachusetts . He dabbled in ceramics a few other times throughout the years butwith work and a family, there wasn’t much time left to pursue his creative interests.Covid thankfully provided that opportunity as the elimination of the 3 hour commute fromConnecticut to New York City allowed Richard to take advantage of classes and studiotime at the wonderful Silvermine Art Center in Norwalk, Connecticut. He advanced his skills in wheel throwing and hand building, had access to a gas kiln and drew inspirationfrom the other talented potters who each took a different approach to their work.Richard continues to work out of Silvermine Art Center in Connecticut and is grateful forthe opportunity to have a community of creatives and the time to experiment andexpress his artistic vision. He had previously sold some of his work on Etsy. Hisvarious series in both traditional pottery and porcelain are unique and beautiful and canbe for appreciation or use. This is Richard’s inaugural exhibition at a gallery.
