Alan Vietze’s artistic journey began at Binghamton University, where he studied under the renowned Fred DeVito, a student of Bauhaus legend Josef Albers, and esteemed sculptor Ed Wilson. It was there he discovered that art brought him peace of mind and a deeper connection to himself. From carving wood and welding to painting and 3-D design, Alan's early work focused on sculpture. But today, his vibrant pieces dive into the interaction of color, shape, movement, and depth. His latest works embody "Hard Edge Abstract Expressionism" —capturing moments of his life in bold, visual form. In addition to being a brilliant artist, Alan is also a dedicated therapist who has spent over 25 years reshaping the way mental health services are provided to children. For Alan, art and therapy go hand in hand, both helping him cultivate mindfulness and find inner peace.
