Within our universe and within each of our lives, there is constant tension between order and chaos. We find security in the stable, predictable aspects of life, while we long for – or sometimes fear – the excitement of life’s surprises.Having longed for order most of my life, I now find greater contentment in a balance between predictability and fluidity. In my art, as well as my life, I look for a dynamic balance between a steady bass rhythm and a syncopated melody. I seek a harmony between comfortable patterns and challenging lines. Creating movement between stable geometric shapes and changing organic forms helps me truly appreciate the comfort of the familiar and the adventure of the unknown._________ Donna Barnhart moved to the Atlanta area in 2015 from Memphis, Tennessee, and is pursuing a second career as an artist.
