Libby McFalls is a Professor of Art and the Department of Art's Art Foundation Coordinator at Columbus State University. She obtained her MFA in Printmaking from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan and her BFA from Columbus College of Art and Design Ohio. Growing up in East Tennessee, McFalls developed a passion for storytelling during her childhood, influenced by her attendance at the National Storytelling Festival. Her interest in oral storytelling grew over time, particularly during the summers spent with her sisters among extended family spanning five living generations. Today, McFalls creates non-linear visual narratives that explore themes of loss and family. Her work delves into moments that blur the boundaries between fact and fiction, life and death, and humor and sorrow, showcasing the contradictions and complexities of life. McFalls's artwork has been displayed in various national and international venues, including the Athica Athens Institute, South Bay Contemporary in Los Angeles, SoLA Gallery, Kai Lin Art Gallery, and Gallery 1 in Edinburgh, Scotland.
