As a multidisciplinary artist, I wear the hat of sculptor, metalsmith, and painter. Both my sculpture and jewelry work incorporates steel, brass, non-ferrous metals, and other materials such as lighting, wood, and found objects. My two-dimensional mixed media pieces are composed of acrylic and dry media on wood, found objects, or paper. I love to be surprised by a great, low contrast, split complementary color palette, or a beautiful linear element. I find inspiration in seeing the hand of a maker in their work with all of the subtle imperfections, in moments from my daily life, and in kitschy, mass-produced products from mid to late 20th-century American nostalgia. Within my work- large, small, metal, or otherwise- I’m looking for a place for my eyes and soul to rest and sometimes have a little laugh.
