BIODino Urpí is a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in Costa Rica that graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2012. Dino has lived in Vancouver, Baltimore, and New Orleans and has traveled extensively around North America and Europe. He loves backpacking and uses traveling as a means to build community around the world. His work is mostly a combination of ritual and performance, costumes, installation, and painting. In his multifaceted artistic practice, Dino compliments his creative portals with the production of thematic events, DJ sets for different occasions and wearable art collections. He currently lives and works in Costa Rica. PREVIOUS SHOWS His artworks have been exhibited in solo shows at Royal Botanical Gardens (UK), Abra Espacio (Costa Rica), ArtFuss (Dallas) , DESpacio (Costa Rica), La Federica (Spain), Pinkard Gallery (USA), The Gam Gallery (Canadá), Cuarto37 Gallery (Costa Rica), as also in important collective shows in Costa Rica, Baltimore, Vancouver, Miami and Egypt. Besides his visual arts exhibitions, he has run various performance shows in different cultural spaces. Cofradía Real, Jardín Fortuna and Deidades Chamánicas are his highlighted performances.Dino has been awarded as the guest artist in the 26th Annual Orchids Festival, the Starr Foundation Scholarship and MICA Achievement Award and Printmaking Departmental Recognition Award.
