"Seven years ago, while residing in the Pacific Northwest, I became inspired by the giant Pacific octopus. My work explores the dynamic balance between their playfulness and elegance, translating the creatures' fluid movements into molten glass. Through deliberate choices of color and form, I aim to achieve a harmonious interplay between intuition and control." Nick Hawthorne, a New England native, obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Franklin Pierce University. With 17 years of experience in glassblowing, he has honed his craft to create both sculptural and functional pieces. He also has dedicated many years to teaching glassblowing to the public.
