Ermin was born in 1980 in former Yugoslavia. Since early childhood he exhibited creative sensibilities beyond his young age. His teachers recognized his artistic talent and placed him in special art programs. In 1993, due to the civil war in Yugoslavia at the time, he and his family moved to Berlin, Germany where they lived as refugees. While living in Berlin as teenager, Ermin continued to pursue his artistic passion and became a graffiti artist. Then in 1998 he and his family emigrated to the United States settling in Tampa Bay, Florida. Upon arrival in the US, he left graffiti behind and took on painting. He started going to St Petersburg College where he began studying art and architecture. He went on to study art at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. In 2006 he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Art Studio with minors in Graphic Design and Art History. His current series of works titled the ‘Sigma Series’, born during covid lockdown in 2020, are mature, colorful and bold representations of his core vision and aesthetic steeped in geometric form, structural sensibility, dimensionality and the metaphysical. Currently Ermin resides in Tampa with his wife and their beloved cat Maximus where he also maintains his studio.
