Lisa Marseglia-Moran After a 30-year career as an art teacher in Paramus, NJ, Lisa Marseglia-Moran embarked on a new journey as a full-time artist in 2021. Since then, she has captivated audiences across the New York Metropolitan area with her evocative creations that celebrate the beauty of nature and the unity of all living things.Marseglia-Moran’s artistic journey is deeply rooted in her reverence for the natural world. She channels her inspiration through oils, watercolor, pen and ink, and mixed media into abstract expressions of the interconnected energy that binds us all.A defining feature of Marseglia-Moran’s style is her innovative use of handmade paper in mixed media works. This technique involves combining a variety of media, including handmade paper, ink, watercolor, thread, metal, sand and water to create deeply textured collages that represent both the simple beauty and complexity of the natural world.Though raised on the East Coast, Marseglia-Moran has always found herself drawn to the Southwest. Hiking throughout New Mexico and Arizona has provided an unlimited amount of inspiration for her work. Each element of art; Color, shape, line and texture is exceptionally apparent in the unmatched beauty of the desert. An important part of the process involves collecting all the scraps of paper at the end of each day and recycling them into new pieces of handmade paper. In this way, the media itself is connected from one piece to the next, symbolizing the circle of life.
