[FR] Peintre New Yorkais, Adam Handler passe sa plus tendre enfance dans l’usine d’encadrement de ses grands-parents, environnement qui attise son intérêt pour les arts. De fil en aiguille, cet intérêt grandit et devient par la suite le sujet de ses études. En effet, Handler part étudier le dessin en Italie et obtient un diplôme en histoire de l’art au Purchase College.Le travail d’Adam Handler s’ancre dans une démarche autobiographique qui découle de l’amour qu’il porte aux femmes de sa vie, soit sa femme, sa mère ainsi que sa grand-mère. Les oeuvres de l’artiste, colorées, passionnées et enfantines, ont été exposées internationalement, des États-Unis jusqu’au Moyen-Orient. On y distingue généralement des personnages tels que des chauves-souris, des abeilles, des fantômes et des filles, qu’il réalise à la peinture acrylique, au bâton à l’huile, aux crayons et aux marqueurs.[EN] New York-based painter Adam Handler spent his childhood in his grandparents’ framing factory, an environment that fuelled his interest in the arts. Over time, this interest grew and became the subject of his studies, leading him to move to Italy to pursue life drawing and later to graduate from Purchase College with a degree in art history.Adam Handler’s work is rooted in an autobiographical process that stems from his love for the women in his life: his wife, his mother and his grandmother. The artist’s colourful, passionate and childlike works have been exhibited internationally, from the United States to the Middle East. They usually feature characters such as bats, bees, ghosts and girls, which he creates with acrylic paint, oil stick, pencils and markers.
