The original Hallett Iron Works was founded in 1853 in Chicago by John Hallett, making architectural iron and telephone and telegraph construction material. After being involved in casting and fabricating jewelry for many years, John S. Hallett decided to revive his great-great grandfather's Hallett Iron Works for bronze and cast iron sculptures. John has been active in lumberjack sports and Nordic skiing for over 40 years. He has coached amateur and professional world champion log rollers. It seems logical that his initial sculptures include a series of lumberjack sports and Nordic skiers. John is a retired small animal veterinarian from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. He recently graduated from Minneapolis College of Art and Design with his MFA.
