Dennis Wayne Hicks was a Georgia artist known for his pastel painting. He was born and raised in Thomasville, Georgia.He graduated from Ringling School of Art Design in Sarasota,where he met his future wife, Cristina. Both were accomplished artists and members of the Southern Pastel Society, enjoying painting as both a career and pastime together throughout their lives. In his later years, Dennis hiked the woods and back roads of Georgia, which became the subjects for much of his work.
