Hiroshi Kashima was greatly inspired by Europe's warm sunlight and colorful landscapes during his travels to Italy in the 1980s. Since then, he has created work to the theme of 'light'. With each exhibition, he has experimented with many different kinds of materials: Japanese paper, canvas, and Western paper.Kashima's works look as though light is being shined from behind, or that the work itself is giving off light. The repetitive shapes and understated colors will surely soothe your soul.
