David Jacobs holds a deep reverence for the natural world. Based in Tacoma, Washington, David explores landscapes in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. He believes in the power of photographs to cultivate a sense of place. Photography allows him to bring attention and awareness to various environments and their various inhabitants, often leaving the viewer with a sense of wonder and intrigue. One of his specialties is using infrared photography to capture normally unseen aspects of particular vistas. With infrared photography, the image sensor used is sensitive to infrared light, often resulting in a dreamlike appearance. Another attribute of infrared photographs is the penetration of atmospheric haze, and manifestation of very dark skies. Barlow Gallery is proud to present David’s captivating images and perspectives.
