Davis Freeman presents a lifetime of images captured through eyes of experience. With more awards, TV interviews, magazine articles, filmed profiles, exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and art organization leadership positions under his belt than will fit on several typed pages, Davis has enjoyed success as a professional photographer to a degree most others will never achieve. His body of work across the past 50 years is awe inspiring, replete with images of famous people, celebrated places, and uncommon perspectives captured by the different cameras he has employed for a half-century. With college degrees in Psychology, History, English, and of course, Photography, Davis has truly practiced lifelong learning. His photography has been featured in public exhibitions in Milan, Paris, New York, San Francisco, Sun Valley, and of course, Seattle, among other places. His work is part of the permanent collections at the Tacoma Museum of Glass, Washington State University, and those at many well-known company headquarters and celebrity homes across the nation. Barlow Gallery is very fortunate that Davis has chosen to live in Tacoma at this stage in his life, because we have access to his considerable talents, profound knowledge, and veteran advice. Most of his work can be seen at davisfreeman.com—but we are very proud to feature a small collection of his images in our gallery as well. Take the time to observe his photographs and enjoy the feelings, memories, and stories they tell. “I am a receiver as much as a creator. The beauty I seek, I find in the interesting plays of light and dark across the topography of my subject.“ Artist Statement for Photography Exhibition, April 2025: HEREOrder Prints from the exhibition: HERE
