Artist Statement: My process is all about the painting itself, its expression, its shape, and the feelings it evokes. It's a mixture of fast, intuitive, and spontaneous painting and considered steps. Colors, surfaces, lines, brushstrokes, and materials gradually condense into an overall composition. I particularly like working on large formats because I can get involved with my whole body - you could also call it a dance with or on the canvas. The energy that arises during this creative process can be seen and felt in the finished work; the application of paint, the brushwork, and pictorial rhythm. My works are powerful, and have an energetic charisma and almost tangible dynamics.
